As the country’s General Election beckons, this edition comes at the time Nigeria Decides on moving forward to better and brighter future with tremendous opportunities. Though the election tension increases fear and uncertainty in the polity, at the same time – some print investors are more daring, making huge investments in latest print equipment and processes to take advantage of great opportunities Nigeria has now and in the future.
Not only that, the skepticisms of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have changed to tactical strategies that enable them to regain larger share of Africa’s biggest economy. More than ever before, major OEMs are now venturing into Nigeria with renewed commitments and alternative offerings. One of such is FUJIFILM. WHERE To Print magazine was privileged to visit Fujifilm HQ in Europe and experience live one of Fujifilm’s four plate manufacturing facilities in the world – the 63 hectares facility in Tilburg, the Netherlands that is a fully automated 24/7 to deliver world-class printing plates. Check out our findings on pages 28 and 30. During the visit, Fujifilm Senior Vice President, Graphic Systems Division (whose responsibility includes the African region) – Mr. Takashi Yanagawa also disclosed in an Exclusive Interview Fujifilm’s plans for the graphics industry in Nigeria. Read the excerpts on pages 24, 25 and 26.
Other OEM representative that is offering alternative is ECRM and CRON authorised dealer in Nigeria – El-Kran Imaging Systems LTD. We had SPECIAL INTERVIEW session with El-Kran boss – Prince Kelly Aremu where his company offering is explained on pages 34 and 35 captioned: ‘WHAT MAKES CTcP TO BE IN VOGUE IS THE LOWER COST OF PRODUCTION’. Check out other interview on our SMART PRINT CELEBRITY page 40 where we spoke with the Senior Manager – Manpower Development, Nigerian Security Printing And Minting PLC – Alhaji Abbas Datti Muhammad who is also confident that any print investor making any investment decision will definitely reap the reward of their investment. Read what he meant by ‘THE BENEFITS FOR THOSE WHO INVESTED IN TECHNOLOGY AND CAPACITY WILL SURELY ACCRUE IN FUTURE‘.
