Premium quality folding boxes as a sales promotion tool

Protecting the product, communicating the content, and at the Point of Sale first and foremost: a sales promotion tool. It is this quality that makes product packaging a topic at viscom Frankfurt 2014 in autumn. The International Trade Fair for Visual Communication is broadening its exhibition range by adding the POS packaging segment. Particular focus will be on folding boxes.

From 5 to 7 November viscom presents the latest packaging trends for premium quality folding boxes. The exhibition segment offers manufacturers of folding boxes, providers of package printing and finishing services as well as suppliers of security and labeling technology an exclusive opportunity for presentation.

 

POS packaging is embedded in the overall chain of visual communication and therefore one of viscom’s six core segments: large format printing, signmaking, digital signage, POS display, POS packaging und object design. Both visually and in terms of content, presentation of these segments to the visitors in the different exhibition halls is clearly structured, and thus provides clear orientation for the different target groups. In the “Application and Marketing” segment, viscom is aimed at brand manufacturers, manufacturing and retail marketing decision-makers, agencies, creative talent and designers from all branches of industry.

The packaging must reflect the product; beyond that, it can also be an element in store design. Ideally, it is designed to go with a matching display, perhaps even complemented by digital signage elements. Options are practically unlimited, everything is possible. The viscom segments POS display, digital signage and object design present sales promotion trends on all levels. Exhibitors from the large format printing and the signmaking segment round of the range. As a result, viscom showcases the complete package for retailers – from signage to light advertising, lighting and the design options offered by digital printing right through to analogue and digital POS media. Product packaging has an impact on the overall effect of the store design and is in itself the final step toward purchasing.

From classic advertising technology to digital printing through to digital advertising and POS media – with its six theme worlds, viscom presents the innovations in visual communication. In addition to the inspiring synergies created by the six themes – large format printing – signmaking – object design – covering the “Technologies and Materials” segment and – digital signage – POS display – POS packaging – covering the “Applications and Marketing” segment, the event is clearly structured and thus leaves plenty of room for the development of each sector’s identity. A key factor for the success of viscom exhibitors and visitors alike, the event blends a classic trade fair with application-focussed special shows, European-level awards and an extensive supporting programme. This diversity is reflected in the trade fair’s visitor target groups, as well: viscom is aimed at brand manufacturers and distributors, manufacturing and retail marketing decision-makers, object designers, equipment and materials buyers, craftsmen, agencies, and creative talent.

Alternating locations between Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, viscom 2014 will take place from Wednesday, 5 November, to Friday, 7 November. Some 350 exhibitors and 13,000 trade visitors are expected to attend.
