According to Managing Director – Brent Greenblatt, the family owned business is not done with its achievements as he asserts; ”we have begun and will continue to innovate, restructure and reposition the business for improved effectiveness and to take advantage of changing demands for quality products and services, and the dwindling number of suppliers to the industry we serve”.
His assertion is not farfetched as WHERE To Print magazine discovered during a guided factory tour of the expansive company situated on Parow Industrial Area, Cape Town. Housing over 250 staff members – many of whom have more than 30 years service in the company with many more representing second and third generation family members who have developed their skills in the business – Svenmill factory is equipped with up-to-date machineries such as woven jacquard and dobby systems, warp knitted tricot, weft insertion, and raschel/ jacquard technologies that ensure seamless production of quality products of the highest standard.
And guided by her in-house design studio, these varied technologies enable Svenmill to supply a wide range of quality decorative home furnishings, curtaining, lining and upholstery fabrics in fibre compositions including cotton, polyester, linen and acrylic from readymade curtains to tablecloths, catering for both independent retail outlets as well as for chain store requirements.
Not only that, Svenmill also supply fabrics for the refurbishment of reputable South African establishments like SARS, Eskom and SAA offices as well as many hotels within the Protea Hotel and Sun International Hotel Groups.
