In pursuit of additional cost-effectiveness, efficiency and ease of operation through creative technology applications, CRON-ECRM is proud to present the 2017 model of plate setters and eco-friendly plates.
“Our future technologies have been inspired by our customers’ need for a 100% stable and reliable relationship between plate characteristics, CTP imaging, and plate processing,” says Rick Black, President and CEO of CRON-ECRM. “This stable relationship ensures the most efficient and economic production operation.”
New Automated CTP
The three-in-one CTP solutions will be previewed by CRON-ECRM at Graph Expo 2016. The new solution combines plate cassette input with precision imaging, punching and transport, while providing a low cost, easy-to-use and compact unit which is easy to maintain.
The exposure engine is based on CRON’s market-leading magnetic linear drive platform which provides fault-free imaging across a wide choice of resolutions, with registration accuracy up to 0.01mm and a tonal range 1%-99%, in either conventional or stochastic screening.
The three-in-one solution (26”/ 660mm format) will be commercially available in the 4th quarter of 2016, with larger formats up to 46”/ 1168mm scheduled for release in 2017. The existing range of CTP engines will be sold in parallel, offering printers the choice to go for a three-in-one or modular solution.
New – Emerald-UV Low Chemistry Plate
A new plate has joined CRON-ECRM’s UV plate portfolio. Sold under the Blackwood brand, it not only streamlines the production process but also reduces costs and enables a higher level of environmental responsibility. The plate is manufactured under license by CRON’s Blackwood plant which, since opening in 2014, has made substantial inroads into the world market through high quality products, including UV and Double Coated UV Ink resistant plates, at very affordable prices.
The new Blackwood Emerald UV plate is unique. It minimizes the consumption of chemicals and water for UV exposed plates. With a simple ‘wash out’ bath, plates are press ready in seconds and exhibit exacting dot reproduction from 1-98% for either stochastic screening (20 micron) or conventional screening up to 200 dpi. Run length is consistent up to 50,000 impressions without baking (20,000 for UV ink). The developing solution of the ‘wash out’ bath is non-toxic and non-corrosive. The plate is currently available through several select dealers.
