The Advertisers and Screen Printers Association of Nigeria (ASPAN) has enjoined Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) to give consideration to its members who want to be registered and licensed by CIPPON
Immediate past President of ASPAN – Honourable Bashir Adelabu, made this appeal in an interview with WHERE To Print magazine at his office in Ogun State. While acknowledging efforts of CIPPON so far in ensuring the survival of print business in Nigeria, Hon. Adelabu noted that ASPAN members now led by Elder Noah Kola BalogunMASPAN, were ready to collaborate with CIPPON if the Institute could give its members consideration on fees paid for registration and license.
Speaking further, he implored the Institute to always consider them whose only tools are brush and mesh and should not categorized them with printers whose one machine can buy the whole of its members company. Said he, “We have no option but to join and support the Institute. But what we are saying is that they should not bill us as they bill printers because majority of our members are just mere road-side artists who cannot afford the enormous fees they are asking for”.
He also urged CIPPON to work with ASPAN in pulling the youths into print business which would help in reducing unemployment and security challenges in the nation, “CIPPON should work with us. I belief this programme will benefit the younger generation and such associations as ours apart from helping the government solve unemployment and security challenges in the nation” he stressed.
