Returning to Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, the 4th edition of PROPAK West Africa 2016 which takes place from the 20th to the 22nd of September will see over ninety exhibitors displaying their products and machinery across two exhibition halls.
With more than 3000 visitors expected organisers of West Africa’s largest printing, packaging and plastics exhibition – Afrocet Montgomery – anticipate PROPAK West Africa will further extend its position as the leading industry exhibition in the region.
Alongside the exhibition booths, a high-level Conference Program has been devised in close collaboration with leading public and private sector business leaders amidst feedback from the previous year’s events. The Conference Program will be delivered by thought leaders within the industry sphere through a combination of presentations and panel discussions on the most pertinent issue identified in the run up to the event.
And for the first time in West Africa, the continent wide AfriStar Awards will take place on the 21st September 2016 as a part of the event. The Awards are designed to showcase the very best of the African packaging industry. Speaking with Bill Marshall from the Awards he says, ‘the main criteria for medal winners in the competition is the excellent application and execution of packaging that demonstrates creative design, marketing or technology applied to packaging produced in Africa’. According to the Organisers, the Conference Program has three core themes the first being FoodPro, which focuses on the food and beverage industry through discussions on challenges, opportunities, automation and innovation in the sector. On day two the attention turns to the plastics and labelling industry with talks on compliance, sustainability and the future outlook of the sectors under the titles of Pro-Label and Pro-Plas West Africa. On the final day the emphasis rolls onto the printing sector with dialogue circulating around the changing face of the printing sector, new technologies and techniques through Print Expo and Digital Print West Africa.
Confirmed speakers from PZ Cussons, Ishida, Diageo and Krones will be joined by representatives from the likes of Coca Cola, Bank of Industry, Unilever and Pfizer.
The program is completed by a Roundtable Discussion which will aim to consolidate a number of the issues brought up throughout the week and look into ways of overcoming them.
