Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at its Annual Presidential Dinner in Lagos has awarded deserving practitioners in the public and private sectors of the economy with Award of Excellence in practice of public relation in Nigeria.
According to the President and Chairman, Governing Council of NIPR – who is also the Managing Director of West Africa’s first class security printing company – Megavons (West Africa) Limited – Dr. Rotimi Oladele, the practitioners that were awarded at the event had consistently shown excellence in practice of public relations in Nigeria and deserved to be awarded. To him, ‘the aim of the award is to celebrate Nigeria, celebrate ourselves and also recognise a few organisations whose performance in the field of public relations has been commendable’, while noting that as the Institute plan to increase the number of awardees in 2015, the body has also set up training and knowledge development platforms for members in addition to recruiting quality members into the body.
Though individual practitioners were awarded, corporate organisations that have contributed to the practice also received awards. These include but not limited to the Nigerian Customs Service and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
