Ajib Arts Enterprises has called on the government to review its fiscal policies that bothers on print business growth such as multiple taxation, high tariffs on imported print consumables and media, and epileptic electricity supply in the country.
According to Managing Director of Ajib Arts Enterprises – Mr. Ajibola Saka, government policies as they affect businesses especially printing that employs a high number of Nigerians should be given special attention to ensure its survival and growth in the economy.
As the pioneer of flock branding in Mushin area of Lagos State, Mr. Saka however stated that with relative conducive atmosphere, printing outfits would be able to acquire modern print equipment as well as re-train their workers and employ more jobless youths with the multiplier effect of drastically reducing crime and security challenges in the country.
As a budding entrepreneur, he urged government to be a source of encouragement to print business owners in the industry by implementing policies that would help in their future investment efforts. According to him, “the printing industry is an integral part of the Nigerian economy and with a little encouragement from the government; the industry can single-handedly depopulate the labour market by providing employment opportunity for the unemployed and at the same time boost the economy”.
On print activities in Mushin – Lagos, Mr. Ajibola submitted that Mushin has gradually become one of the print hubs in Nigeria which government (be it local, state or federal) should take cognizance of – and support with stable electricity supply.
