Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) has called on print stakeholders in the country to take training and manpower development in the industry seriously. This call was made by CIPPON President/ Chairman-In-Council, Mr. Wahab Aderemi Mohammed Lawal in his opening speech during the recently organised One-day Mandatory Professional Programme with the theme: ‘Printing Regulation – A Vehicle for National Development’.
He noted that with the technological advancement in the printing world, Nigeria printers should not be left behind thus the need by the Institute to organise the programme to enable participants revisit some of the salient problems in the Nigeria printing industry especially in areas of press management, finance and print business accounting as participants believed the programme was a welcome development in addressing issues like press mismanagement, piracy, quackery, capital flight and compliance with Printers Act.
In a related development, Chairman of the Occasion – Alhaji Yahaya Anfani, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of Yaliam Press Limited implored print stakeholders to take advantage of expositions and training opportunities like the CIPPON One-day Mandatory Professional Programme to increase their press efficiency, reduce waste and revenue loss, standardize their print job and overall reduction of capital flight as printing jobs would thus be contracted to Nigeria printers thereby aiding economic growth and development. And to support CIPPON’s quest for Printers’ Education, Yaliam Press Limited donated half a million Naira to the Printers Fund.
