BOBST has announced that it will open an office in Lagos, Nigeria to enhance the support provided to customers in West and Central Africa. The formal launch of the new office took place at an event during PROPAK West Africa exhibition being held in the city.
As one of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment and services to packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries, BOBST currently has a sales and service center in Tunis, Tunisia, with overall responsibility for BOBST activities in Africa and the Middle East. The new BOBST office in Lagos will cover Nigeria and the wider West Africa region, providing pre-sales assistance and technical support for BOBST sheet-fed and web-fed customers.
Samir Khoudja, BOBST’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, said, “West Africa, and Nigeria in particular, is a very dynamic market. By opening an office in Lagos, the city with the biggest population in the most populous country in Africa, we will be closer to our customers and able to provide them with an even higher standard of service. Establishing this presence in Lagos is a significant step for BOBST and we expect that it will lead to further expansion in the region.”
The announcement was made at a cocktail reception held on September 20th, close to the PROPAK West Africa exhibition venue on Victoria Island, Lagos. Around fifty VIP guests, including the owners, CEO’s and Managing Directors of many packaging, label and FMCG companies, along with the Consul General of Switzerland in Lagos, Nigerian government officials and the media, attended the event at the EKO Hotel & Suites.
