2015 turned out to be a milestone year for us. An Election Year characterised by ups and downs with attendant benefits to those who were focused, planned and especially backed by the Supreme One. Needless to say that it was also a year full of headaches to those who were distracted and disconnected from the realities of market forces and relevant Authorities.
Moving forward, lessons should be learnt from 2015 as I confidently believe 2016 will be better for all of us. Aside PROPAK Exhibitions in Johannesburg and Lagos; FESPA Exhibitions in Amsterdam and Johannesburg with newly introduced Forums for Lagos and Nairobi, this is DRUPA Year – with numerous business opportunities for all of us. Innovation, networking, education, partnership and agreement with a host of other highlights will drive drupa 2016 commencing from Tuesday the 31st of May through to Friday the 10th of June at the ‘Printers Stadium’ – Düsseldorf Messe, Germany. Get prepared to be there!
To aid your preparation, flip to page 36 and 40 to know more about drupa 2016 through a SPECIAL FEATURE INTERVIEW with Pa. Augustus Itua – the CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH Official Representative in West Africa – Trade Fair Services Nigeria Limited. Though he is not given to interviews but as WHERE To Print is the Only Nigeria Cooperating Media Partner for drupa 2016, he spoke at length with us. Check this out from page 36.
Also in this edition, we report series of events that showed that Print is alive! Check out our documentaries of happenings within Nigeria late last year such as the COMMISSIONING OF THE NEW BAPTIST ULTRA MODERN PRESS (page 28) and INTRODUCTION OF DOIE CTCP INTO THE INDUSTRY BY DAMON PRINT (page 34). Our Tax & Financial Management Advisory Column – SME MANAGEMENT & ACCOUNTING (page 38) concludes the serial on SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SMEs) AND ITS TAX IMPLICATION by Chartered Accountant & Registered Tax Consultant – Mr. Shola Awoyemi, the Managing Partner – J O AWOYEMI & CO. And the COVER STORY (pages 24 and 25) in this issue looks at sustainability as a global concern but implicitly as a huge challenge for the printing industry. We uphold our believe that print has been reinvented and well-placed to respond to new opportunities, actively balancing economic and sustainability imperatives. Read what Laurel Brunner contributed to drupa Expert Article from page 24.
Finally, we present you with full coverage of the Re-branding cum End-Of-Year Get-Together of the Association of Professional Printers of Nigeria (ASSPPON) Mushin Zone II. Exclusively covered by WHERE To Print magazine, this SPECIAL FEATURE titled – ASSPPON RE-BRANDS TO MITIGATE CHALLENGES emphasises on the need for Printers to structurally re-package, re-focus and re-brand their print businesses for opportunities to succeed. The SPECIAL REPORT can be found on pages 20, 26, 30, 32 and 40 with pictorials.
Once again, we sincerely appreciate all of you: our readers, advertisers, PEP customers and partners who believe in us and enabled us to be better then what we were. We say A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL as we promise to continually work hard to influence your print purchase decisions. We could not have been here without you!
Please continue to do good!
Best regards & best wishes throughout 2016 and beyond.
