NMLSPL APPRECIATES INEC
ShareTweet

For patronising the local printing industry during the 2023 General Election, Alhaji Yahaya Amfani led Nigeria Medium and Large-Scale Printers League (NMLSPL) has expressed profound gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to a press statement jointly signed by both the Chairman and Secretary – Yaliam Press LTD boss – Alhaji Yahaya Amfani and KAS Digital Press LTD MD/CEO – Mr. Ademola Kasumu respectively, INEC act of entrusting the printing of all 2023 electoral materials to local print industry did not only promoted the growth and development of the printing industry in Nigeria but also more importantly supported a multitude of local businesses across various sectors.

“Throughout the printing process, our commitment to using local resources and manpower led to the direct employment of thousands of skilled workers. Additionally, the ripple effect of this project extended to the wider community, as thousands of individuals such as vendors, artisans, transporters, food sellers, and many others, found earning opportunities as a result of the activities carried out by the local print industry” the statement reads in part.

WHERE To Print gathered that working on this project has been a significant milestone for the local print industry as it has provided an opportunity to showcase advanced technologies and dedicated workforce within the specialised industry. It was also importantly noted that for the first time in the history of conducting elections in Nigeria, the hitherto election postponement of the past was truly a thing of the past as there was no reason to postpone the 2023 General Election due to unavailability of electoral materials as the local Printers worked tirelessly to meet strict timelines.

It was indeed a game-changer considering the fact that electoral materials were mostly printed overseas prior to now thereby saving forex and billions of Naira back into the Nigerian economy. “This is a remarkable milestone that has bolstered our confidence in our capabilities to render similar services to ECOWAS nations and other Africa countries” expresses NMLSPL as it encourages Government at all levels to admonish other agencies to emulate INEC in patronising local service providers in a bid to reinvigorate the Nigerian economy; “this decision not only ensures the utilization of local resources and expertise but also significantly reduces capital flight, benefiting our nation’s economy and contributing to sustainable economic development” NMLSPL concludes.

As the name connotes, the Nigeria Medium and Large-Scale Printers League (NMLSPL) is a body made up of top printing firms in Nigeria such as Binani Press LTD, KAS Digital Press LTD, Marvelous Mike Press LTD, Perfect Printers LTD, Petra Press LTD, Ramadan Press LTD, and Yaliam Press LTD – just to name a few.
