The fundamental technologies for banknote printing consist of offset printing, intaglio printing and numbering printing, all of which are crucial to the security printing process. The trend in banknotes in recent years is adding security devices to these technologies as a way to prevent counterfeiting. In pursuing this high-level counterfeiting prevention, Komori is further strengthening its fundamental printing technologies.

KGC-S is equipped with banknote printing machines and systems that incorporate all aspects of security printing technologies and has a team of security printing experts who are ready to address any challenges faced by customers. In line with the concepts of “Power to the Print” and “Trust in Print,” KGC-S will continue to foster trust in Komori by government agencies, printing companies and suppliers worldwide and enable the delivery of the world’s safest and most trusted banknotes to people around the world.

In a related development, Komori has also established the Printed Electronics Elemental Technology Development Center on the premises of the Tsukuba Plant in Japan in order to develop elemental technologies for printed electronics (PE).

Komori views the printed electronics business as a growth business. The Printed Electronics Elemental Technology Development Center was established to build a foundation for the development of elemental technologies and to create technological competitiveness in response to the rapid evolution of the electronics industry.

The facility is equipped with a Class 1000 cleanroom, which requires a high level of air cleanliness and basic analytical equipment, providing an environment for the applied development of advanced printed electronics. In addition to its own elemental technology development, Komori will utilize this center as a platform to promote open innovation through joint development with partner companies and industry academia, continuing to explore the potential of PE technology.

Komori will continue to contribute to society through advanced technology development for its Customer Kando slogan which it defines as delivering customer satisfaction beyond expectations.
