Kodak has won the EDP Award 2017 for the best product in the “Cutsheet printer colour up to B3 >200,000 A4/month” category with its KODAK NEXPRESS ZX3900 Digital Production Colour Press. This digital production press, which was publicly premiered at drupa 2016, was entered by Kodak in the race for the EDP Awards in the main category “Commercial Printing”.
The awards were presented by the EDP Association (European Digital Press Association) on May 10, 2017 during the FESPA international exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. The EDP Association is an alliance of 20 leading print magazines from all over Europe. Since 2007, the annual EDP Awards have honoured the best new developments in print production tools, software, substrates, inks, materials and finishing systems for the digital sector.
The KODAK NEXPRESS ZX Platform delivers industry-leading productivity and high quality output. Numerous print enhancement options, including ten specialty dry inks for the KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit, give printers a way to set themselves apart from their competitors in the market. Furthermore, the NEXPRESS ZX Platform provides unprecedented flexibility in regards to the substrate types, thicknesses and formats the press will work with. The standard maximum sheet length of 520 mm can be optionally extended to 1000 mm (or 1219 mm later this year) with the KODAK NEXPRESS Long Sheet Pile Feeder.
The EDP Association’s Technical Committee, which nominates the best products for the final judging round, emphasized the enlargements and improvements to the hardware of the NEXPRESS ZX Press Platform as well as the enhanced KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions.
