X-Rite, Incorporated, the world leader in colour management, measurement and communication technologies, has announced the release of ColorTRUE™ Aware SDK (Software Developers Kit) for Apple iOS and Google Android platforms. ColorTRUE Aware SDK provides mobile app developers the ability to deliver accurate colour to their app utilizing the profile created with the X-Rite ColorTRUE app, as well as the included image transformation tools.
Unlike laptop or desktop operating systems, iOS and Android operating systems do not have system wide colour management capabilities. This means each app must apply colour profiles independently. X-Rite now offers a free Software Developers Kit (SDK) that will allow 3rd party app developers access to the custom profile created in the ColorTRUE app, enabling them to seamlessly deliver colour management within their own app(s). The 3rd party app must be promoted as ‘ColorTRUE Aware’ so all ColorTRUE users can quickly identify apps that are colour managed whenever they see the ColorTRUE Aware logo.
