INTRODUCTION

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to see you all here.

Today, we are going to look at some content in PRINTERS’ FOOD from WHERE To Print magazine – which sole aim, is to educate printers and non-printers alike on how to eat healthy.Due to the nature of your job which we know makes you busy always with no time for food, I will be talking about some important foods that will make you to be more alert and concentrate while working especially on machines.

FOODS THAT BOOST PRINTERS’ HEALTH

1) FRUITS and GREEN VEGETABLES:

The nutritional value of fresh fruits and vegetables cannot be overemphasized. Fruits are nature’s wonderful medicines packed with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. They make you look young and healthy. They supply essential nutrients, improve complexion and keep away problems like skin rashes, pimples and even body odour. They also improve the way you look, strengthens your immune system, improve digestion and blood circulation, and protect the body from various diseases.

2) OATMEAL:

Full of fi bre and Vitamin B to reduce stress at work, Oatmeal also contains lots of zinc for prostrate for men. One more thing, Oatmeal improves sexual desire due to the release of testosterone from its bound state to its free state (according to Anecdotal reports). Enjoy with lots of milk or yoghurt and dried fruit.

3) WHOLEGRAIN:

They are source of protein, vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates. Whole grains are rich in antioxidants, which help to protect against heart disease, certain cancers, and diabetes. Examples of whole grains include whole-wheat bread, whole-wheat cereals, oatmeal, muesli, brown rice, popcorn, oatcakes. Choose a whole grain variety over processed or refi ned grains, and look out for added sugar or salt.

4) GINGER:

Ginger is a delicacy, medicine, and spice. It assists in the elimination of parasite from the body. It also keeps your sugar level in control. This means if you are not diabetic; taking ginger prevents diabetes and if you have it already, having ginger tea regularly in your day to day activities will sure give you a pleasant surprise.

5) RED MEAT and POULTRY:

Increases Iron in our body. Women lose a lot of blood during menstruation and child birth, so taking foods rich in Iron such as lean red meat, poultry (please remove skin) will increase blood development.

6) BEANS:

Low in fat, beans are a good source of protein and fi bre and have protective effects against heart disease and breast cancer. Beans also stabilize female hormones.

7) FISH:

Fish boosts our immune system and gives us healthy heart. It also boosts our brain power, mood, lifelong beauty and promotes healthy pregnancies. However, ensure you take more of the oily fish that are high in Omega 3 Fatty Acid which enhances radiant skin and bright eyes e.g. Salmon, sardine and mackerel.

8) WATER:

It is important to drink eight glasses of fl uid every day. It gives you better hydration. It also cut down on wrinkles because you hydrate your skin when water is taken internally. Water is also necessary for the flushing out of toxins from the body.

CONCLUSION

Ladies and gentlemen, now that you’ve heard about some of those important foods that boost your health and help you to concentrate more at work, endeavor to include these in your diet. Therefore my simple conclusion is – eat well to live well.
